This dynamic duo, composed of two talented musicians with rich and diverse backgrounds, has gained significant underground recognition.
Alumine
From Neuquén, Argentina, and raised in Miami Beach, Alumine began their musical journey at the age of 13, performing at Miami's historic Churchill's Pub and Sweat Records. Immersed in Miami’s vibrant music scene, they developed a deep passion for performance and songwriting. After high school, Alumine moved to Gainesville, Florida, where they met Pedro, sparking a long-term collaboration. Alumine has been involved in various projects and has made guest appearances with numerous bands across North Florida. In 2022, they joined the notable Miami band Las Nubes as a touring member, further broadening their musical horizons.
Pedro
Pedro, a first-generation American born to Cuban immigrant parents, was raised in Broward County. He started his musical career performing throughout the county and became a part of notable South Florida math rock bands like Kit Fisto and Dungeons and Dagrons. His rich background and experiences bring a unique depth to the music of Alumine y Pedro. Pedro’s exceptional drumming complements Alumine’s songwriting and melodic production, creating a powerful synergy.
Musical Collaboration:Alumine recorded solo with Mauricio Avendaño of El Shirota in Mexico, further honing their unique sound. Prior to this, Alumine and Pedro worked together on an EP at GoldenTone Studios in Gainesville and collaborated with John Howard of Casey Jones and Kids Like Us. These experiences allowed them to explore and blend various musical styles, resulting in a distinctive sound that is both innovative and authentic. They have garnered significant underground recognition through numerous collaborations and performances across the US.
Performance Highlights:Alumine y Pedro have made notable live appearances at Fest in Gainesville, a world-renowned punk festival, and have opened for acclaimed acts such as Half Waif, Prince Daddy & the Hyena, and Strange Ranger. They have also shared the stage with prominent Florida bands like Woolbright and Insignificant Other, further solidifying their presence in the local music scene. Additionally, both Alumine and Pedro toured as members of the Venezuelan post-hardcore band Zeta and had the unique opportunity to open for Zeta as Alumine, showcasing their versatility and dynamic performance abilities. In 2024, they released "Errores en Vivo," a live performance from Tallahassee in 2017, capturing genuine, unfiltered moments, occasional mishaps, and heartfelt apologies to the crowd, standing as a testament to their raw and authentic stage presence back then. This release was produced by J Bobman and Mauricio Avendaño.
Debut Single:Their debut single showcases their musical range, featuring both a heavier punk side and a softer melodic electronic side. The B-side track incorporates natural themes and elements, such as rhythmic cricket sounds, enhancing the lyrical narrative. This bilingual track, recorded in Mexico, reflects their diverse Hispanic and Latin influences, making it a true representation of their artistic vision.
